As pessoas apenas criam histórias.

É a pior coisa do mundo.

Eu não me conheço realmente. Você precisa do medo.

ROBERT'S INTERVIEW WITH THE RED BULLETIN

This interview is not new, just a compilation of old interviews.

THE RED BULLETIN: For a time, it seemed as if all people wanted to read about was Robert Pattinson and his private life. How did that make you feel?

ROBERT PATTINSON: It’s weird. I made this massive thing about never talking about anything personal in public. And it made absolutely no difference. People just made stuff up. When you’re part of someone else’s narrative, then there’s really nothing you can do about it. I tried to avoid being photographed for a while because I thought that would make it impossible to write a story. But they just used old photographs.

How is it now? Are you able to live a normal life?

It’s a lot easier now than it used to be. I hardly get noticed in London anymore, for example. Even LA is better. It used to be crazy there, but now it’s fine. I’ve decided that I’m not going to hide behind a hat or a disguise anymore. It can really take a toll on you mentally if all you think about when you wake up is: “How well will this outfit prevent me from being recognised?” It can drive you crazy. But I’ve realised that I just need to deal with it.

What’s one piece of advice you can give, based on your experiences?

Don’t Google yourself. It’s the worst thing ever. It only makes you even more scared. I remember being so frightened for years, thinking that people were constantly looking at me and judging me.

Did you actually do that?

Of course, just like everyone else. It’s the worst addiction ever. If you know that people are talking about you in the other room, then you’re going put a glass to the wall and try to find out what they’re saying. It’s a strange world we actors live in, you spend a lot of time on your own in hotel rooms and the temptation becomes even greater. I have to remind myself every day who I am and how I really want to live. I don’t want to be stuck indoors, living like a hermit.

What helps?

Family. A lot of actors bring their families to work with them, but that wouldn’t work for me. My family and friends have jobs, and I would effectively have to make them work for me to be able to have them around. That’s a guaranteed way to ruin a friendship!

If you could talk to your younger self, what’s most important piece of advice you’d give?

I don’t even know myself, really. It’s weird. Normally a person would tell their younger self to “do this, or don’t do that, and don’t worry so much about this”. But that doesn’t work. There are always new problems that will arise. I think I would just tell myself to embrace the fear. You need that fear.

But you said that you don’t deal with fear very well?

I would much prefer to be someone who has to deal with a lot of fear than be a delusional person who doesn’t. I like to be able to overcome things, no matter how small they are.

ARTIGO PARA A REVISTA EL UNIVERSO SOBRE "LIFE"

O longa-metragem Life segue os passos do ator James Dean e fotógrafo Dennis Stock meses antes do acidente do ícone do cinema.

ARTICLE FOR EL UNIVERSO MAGAZINE ABOUT "LIFE"

The film Life follows in the footsteps of actor James Dean and photographer Dennis Stock months before the film icon of the accident.

It's not a biopic, but focuses on intense and essential relationship between Dennis Stock and star James Dean. Life tells the story of Stock (starring Robert Pattinson), who then worked for the Magnum photo agency and was assigned to shoot Dean (Dane DeHaan), a promising Hollywood star, just before the premiere of his East of Eden movie Elia Kazan.

Dean died on September 30, 1955, in an accident when he was driving his car. With his death the young actor became a myth. But for some images that were used to worship, to remember its core off-camera.

Dean was 23 and 26 Stock when they met at a party hosted by director Nicholas Ray (Rebel Without a Cause). Both entered a close friendship during the photographic work, especially when they traveled from Los Angeles to New York and then to the actor's family farm in Indiana. Stock got very personal photos, family and masterfully portrayed the character and personality of the legendary actor, who until then had not been shown so sincerely.

The images obtained by Stock, nearly seven months before the accident and published in Life magazine in March 1955, shows a list of interests first, and then friendship between the actor when he was little known, and the photographer.

The director

On the 60th anniversary of the death of James Dean, filmmaker and Dutch photographer Anton Corbijn, presented his fourth film. His debut was Control (2007) when he captured the demons within the lead singer of Joy Division, Ian Curtis. In 2010, he directed George Clooney in The American and Philip Seymour Hoffman in The Most Wanted Man (2014), but Corbijn is known to be responsible for the images of famous bands disks as Depeche Mode and U2, or directing documentaries and video clips From these and other musical groups and artists such as Bryan Adams and Tom Waits. It also has a reputation as a fashion photographer and celebrity.

His passion for music is what most characterizes Corbijn. "But as a photographer, I'm interested in telling the adapted position of Dean and stock your relationship, this balance between the photographer and his subject. This allowed me to get into the story from my own perspective as a celebrity photographer, who seemed to me that it made perfect sense, "he said.

For Corbijn, the proximity between the actor and Stock is what more he wanted to emphasize, he insists that is not an actor's biography. "I managed to capture their photos through a James Dean unpublished until now. He went into his private room and got personal images. And then there is the relationship that is established between them, and how each influences, but do not give account. These small nuances, very subtle, are the ones that I wanted to capture. I did not want to convey any message about James Dean, "said the director.

The music, again, plays a key role within the story. The young Canadian composer Owen Pallett, who also composed for The Box (2009), The Wait (2013) and Her (2013) - which was nominated for an Oscar in 2014 ... "In Life composition is characterized by Jazz, but very minimal. James Dean loved jazz and symbolizes this period of change, when the whites started going to black clubs, "says Corbijn.

Anton Corbijn see behind the icon another possibility, a story about friendship and cultural exchange. Two artists who are known: a successful photographer and a rebel actor at the height of his greatness and tragedy. An odd couple, whose difficult relationship gave some of the most iconic images of a new generation of disaffected youth and a new type of star. "I think Dean get along with Stock, and then were enjoying the photos they were doing. This relationship has swung between the arrogant attitude of the actor, in the film admits there is a family that the photographer followed him 'like a dog', and Photographer firm response, such as the scene where Dean tells Stock that will finally stop being photographed, but these replies, 'I'm the one helping you,' "says the director.

The actors

Pattinson says that the way to James Dean acting was amazing and it was quite revolutionary in its time. Also, your image of troubled star, "was just an advertising campaign that did very well."

In an interview Sensacine, Pattinson says he "had never heard of Stock, but when I began to investigate, noticed that their hippies photos and others are well known. But it remains unknown even for photographers. It is an unimaginable question though magnificent works as a professional. "(declarations of Europe Press).

At 29, Dane DeHaan has become one of the most sought after actors in Hollywood after surprise with risky bets as Kill Your Darlings, now dares to step into the shoes of his idol, James Dean. For it has been a very interesting topic and he confessed that he enjoyed enter the normal skin of someone who has become an icon. "Ever since I saw his films, for me became one of my favorite actors, for what he did in his time, by the revolution."

Dean made only three movies, but DeHaan believes his legacy serves as an example to today's players. "They were fabulous interpretations, realistic, grounded, human. It was a very sensitive and very talented person."

DANE DEHAAN TALK ABOUT ROBERT IN A INTERVIEW

Dane DeHaan gave an interview to Huffington Post which talks about Robert and his fans. Check out:

[...] What did you and Robert Pattinson do to create that bond James and Dennis shared?

It's an interesting bond because I don't really look at them as friends. I look at them as two artists who were both struggling in different ways, because they work in different ways, and they come across each other and they influence each other as artists. So while a lot of people are calling it a friendship movie, I don't really see the friendship part of it. It's not like Rob and I weren't friends, it's just I felt like that was the relationship we had probably because of the film. We hung out a couple of times outside of set, but other than that, it would be show up on set and really get to know each other through the process of making the movie as two artists who go about things in two different ways. And I think in that way, you don't have to "act" the relationship, you just allow it to happen on screen.

[...] You've worked with some actors with huge fan bases, like Daniel Radcliffe and Rob Pattinson. Did you see all that come into play when you were on set with them? And are you fearful of that kind of fame yourself going forward?

I've worked with Shia LaBeouf too, and it manifests itself differently for all those guys. It's interesting because all those movies have a different target audience. People love Dan in this way where they want to hold him close, where with Rob, they just want to jump on him and make out with him -- there's this sexuality that goes along with Rob's fans where they're just sooo into him as a sexual being. And then Shia's fans are like, "You're the Transformer hero!" They all handle it different ways. Their lives are all more crazy than mine is. But am I scared of that happening?
