Sinopse em Português: 

Quatro famílias vizinhas têm suas vidas entrelaçadas em um verdadeiro quebra-cabeça. Synopsis:

 Four neighboring families have their lives intertwined in a real jigsaw puzzle. Paul (Joshua Jackson) is lying in his room, in a coma, supported by his mother, Esther (Glenn Close), which is far from the husband and teenage daughter, Julie (Jessica Campbell). Jim (Dermot Mulroney) is a lawyer who has more intimacy with his work than with his wife, Susan (Moira Kelly), who prefers to settle in life without it. Their son, Jake (Alex House), has a loving relationship with his sister's doll, Tani. The nearby Annette (Patricia Clarkson) is Paul's lover, is going through a tumultuous divorce and trying to raise children without any capital. Helen (Mary Kay Place) is looking for someone who values.
